Pushpa 2 Box Office Collection: One week has passed since the release of Pushpa 2. The film created new records every day. Like it became the Indian film with the biggest opening. It became the Indian film with the highest weekend collection.
The film also crossed the lifetime collection of all the big films like Animal, Stree 2, Dangal, Pathan, Jawan, Kalki 2898 AD, Dangal in just a few days. After this the debate of South vs Bollywood intensified again.
Many posts started appearing on social media in which it was claimed that South films are better than Hindi films in every aspect. Their collection, content, everything is better than Bollywood. Well, this is a matter of debate.
But people associated with the film industry do not believe so at all. He sees all the films as Indian films and has also been seen talking about this at many places. For example, Rana Daggubati had talked about taking films as films instead of doing South versus North.
Hindi audience alone made the film a hit!
The debate will continue as to who is better, but in the meantime the box office figures have come out. They are telling a different story. When we look at the overall collection of Pushpa 2, it is difficult to differentiate. But when you see the film’s earnings according to each language, you will clearly understand that the story is actually something different.
- In fact, a large part of the earnings of Pushpa 2 is from the Hindi dubbed version. Every day the film is earning more in Hindi alone than what it is earning in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. That means the Hindi audience has taken the biggest responsibility of making Pushpa 2 a hit.
- According to data available on Saknilk, the film earned Rs 80.3 crore in Telugu and Rs 70.3 crore in Hindi on the first day alone. The film is originally made in Telugu only. So the film beat the Hindi figures on the first day but from the second day to the 7th day the story completely changed.
- The film earned Rs 28.6 crore in Telugu and Rs 56.9 crore in Hindi on the second day. Similarly, on the third and fourth day also, the Telugu earning of Pushpa 2 was Rs 35 crore and Rs 43.5 crore, but the Hindi earning was Rs 72.5 crore and Rs 85 crore.
- Even on the fifth, sixth and seventh day, Telugu’s earnings remained only 13.9, 12.15 and 10.15 crores. But in Hindi it was 46.4, 36 and 30 crores.
Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada did not cross double figures on any day
Apart from this, the film did not even cross double figures in other languages on any day. The film earned only Rs 56.35 crore in 7 days in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. And as the days progress, these figures have come down to around 2-3 crores every day.
How much did Pushpa 2 earn in Hindi and Telugu in 7 days?
According to Saknilk data, the film has earned Rs 233.9 crore in Telugu in 7 days including paid previews. In which on the last i.e. 7th day the earning remained only Rs 10.15 crore. Whereas in Hindi the film has earned Rs 398.1 crore in 7 days. The collection on the 7th day of the film was also three times that of Telugu’s 10.15 crores i.e. 30 crores.
Viewers of all languages of South vs Hindi viewers
If we add together the earnings made by the audience of all the languages of South India, then this figure reaches only Rs. 290.25 crores. Whereas the Hindi audience alone has made the film earn more than Rs 398 crore.
Would it have been difficult to find the budget for Pushpa 2?
It is clearly visible from the above figures that the film is moving towards less earning in the South every day. But in Hindi it is still crossing double figures.
The budget of the film is around 500 crores. So if the makers are not able to woo the Hindi audience then this film might not be able to touch its budget even after pulling it off somehow. Whereas due to the Hindi audience, the film collected Rs 700 crores in just a week. It is clear that it is difficult to say whether the film would have been a hit without the Hindi audience.

Pushpa 2 is the first South Indian film whose trailer was launched in Patna, the capital of Hindi speaking state Bihar. Experts had come to know that this time the makers had guessed the strength of the Hindi audience. A major part of the earnings of the films Baahubali 2, Kalki 2898 AD and Salaar-KGF also went from the Hindi belt.
Therefore, the makers of Pushpa 2 first premiered it in Patna with the entire star cast and then held a press conference in Mumbai. The makers of the film again held a press meet in Delhi on 12th December to thank them and Allu Arjun also came to Delhi and said thanks.
